NELLA TERRA DEL VENTO, NELLA TERRA
DEI SOGNI SBIANCATI
This projects reflects the emotions I felt during a journey to Saintes Maries de la Mer, during the celebrations for Saint Sara, protector of the gipsies.
In this occasion, the town pverfills with rom, sinti, gipsies, manouche and rovers, coming from all across Europe.
Saintes Maries de la Mer suddenly awakens from winter's lethargy and welcomes thousands of people to start the touristic season.
Whilst beach resorts and touristic structures arte still shut, the numerous parking lots surrounding the town are mobbed by campers and caravans and equipped as campings.
For a week, the traditional landscapes of Camargue - populated by horses, bulls and flamingoes - are replaced by untraditional ones, populated by houses n wheels and clothoes fluttering in the sun.
The atmosphere is playful, people are friendly and music shows or dance performances are improvised everywhere.
